Skin Care Routine For Acne Prone Skin

Having acne prone skin is annoying enough but 50% of people with acne prone skin don’t know how to take proper care of their skin. In this article I will go over a few tips and tricks so you can have your best skin.

1.      Make sure to wash your skin properly but be gentle. Don’t use too stripping cleansers, they will interfere with your skin’s natural protection barrier.

2.      Wash your face twice a day. In the morning use a gentle cleanser followed by a serum like niacinamide to control your oil production.

3.      Ask your doctor if they can prescribe you a crème that can help with your skin, if your acne isn’t that bad I would go for a day cream that has no fragrance in it.

4.      Be gentle with your skin. When you dry your skin don’t rub it hard and don’t use a rough cloth either.

5.      Don’t use physical scrubs. Sometimes you might feel like you want to scrub off your impurities. If you want to exfoliate your skin we’d recommend to use a chemical exfoliant. You can recognize a chemical exfoliant by these ingredients: BHA, AHA, Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Mandelic Acid, or  Salicylic Acid. Any product with any of these ingredients in it would be a wise choice.

6.      STOP TOUCHING IT! Try to stay away from touching your face too often. Don’t pick on little wounds and don’t pop any zit. Leave your skin be and try to treat it with skin care.

7.      Make sure to wash your hands often. We unknowingly touch our face way more often than we might think. Touching acne prone skin with dirty hands will ultimately end in more acne as the skin reacts to bacteria on the skin.

8.      Really try to stay away from any skin product with fragrance in it. Fragrance will irritate the skin and trigger your acne.

9.      Drink water. I know there’s some debate on the importance of hydrating yourself in relation to having good skin. But what we eat and drink will definitely have an effect on our skin. Try to stay away from a lot of fatty food and drink at least a few glasses of water every day.

10.  Try out different types of skin care and different kinds of products. Any product can try to convince you that it’s the perfect fit for your skin but your skin itself will tell you if it likes the product or not.

You don’t have to spend a lot, there are a lot of great and affordable skin care out there for you to try. Hi, this is me, Iris G.

I love writing about skin care and spend way too much time in front of the mirror slapping on all sorts of skincare products. That said, I am always leaning towards a ‘less is more’ kind of approach when it comes to skin care. I love working from home and have 2 websites I work on on a daily basis. One website is called 4eversilky.com where I talk all about Laser Hair Removal & Skin Care of course! My other website is all about how to start your own online business and is called mmo-with-iris.com.

I love writing and especially about skin care so I have found my little piece of heaven here on BLVDskin.
